Évora is located some 130 km southeast of Lisbon and served by frequent bus connections. Lisbon has an international airport with direct connections to most European capitals, North America, Brazil and some cities in Africa and Asia. Another possibility to reach Évora is via Faro international airport that has frequent low fare flights, especially during the summer. Trains from Lisbon also connect to Évora, but bus should be more practical.
From Lisbon Airport to Évora by bus
The bus connections from Lisbon to Évora depart from “Sete Rios” bus station. You can the tickets at the station or purchase them online (http://www.rede-expressos.pt/default.aspx).

To get from Lisbon airport to “Sete Rios” bus terminal station you can use AEROBUS, METRO or TAXI
AEROBUS (from 7:30am to 11:00pm)
Get off at the third stop (Sete Rios).
Daily departures every 40 minutes, from 8:00pm every 60 min.
You can purchase the tickets onboard the bus or online.
TICKETS 24h AEROBUS PASS: Adults €3.50; Children (aged 4-10) €2.00;
The ticket is valid for 24 hours on the Aerobus network (unlimited trips)
METRO (from 6.30am to 1:00am)
Take the red line to S. Sebastião and change to the blue line direction to Amadora Este.
Get out two stops after at Jardim Zoológico.
The trip will take about 35 minutes.
The bus station should be reached from the underground station.
TICKETS (also valid for “carris” yellow buses): each trip: €1.40 / 24h tickets: €6.00
It requires the acquisition of a rechargeable electronic ticket : €0.50.
You can pick the taxi at the airport.
The trip duration will depend on the traffic but at best it will take about 15 minutes to get to “Sete Rios” and cost about €8 – €10.
From Lisbon Airport to Évora by car
You may rent a car at Lisbon airport (several companies present, also available for online booking).
Take the highway A1, direction Ponte Vasco da Gama, A12.
After crossing the bridge, continue through highway A12.
At exit n.7 choose [Espanha/Évora, A6]. Continue through highway A6 [E90] for aprox. 60 km till exit [Évora]. Follow the signs to Évora for another 10 km.

From Lisbon Airport to Évora by train
The nearest train station to the airport is “Gare do Oriente” in Parque das Nações.
At the CP website, you need to select the departure station Lisboa – Oriente. There are 4 daily trains connecting Lisbon and Évora. The trip takes about 1:35 and the price is approximately €12.
To get from the airport to Gare do Oriente you may use CARRIS BUS, METRO (easy) or TAXI
bus N. 208 – direction Estação Oriente (Interface), you should get out at the penultimate stop.
bus N. 705 – direction to Estação Oriente (Interface), you can get out at the penultimate stop.
bus N. 744 – direction to Moscavide (Qta. Laranjeiras). Leave seven stops after at Estação Oriente.

IN ÉVORA TRAIN STATION
The train station it’s about 1.5km distance from Évora downtown. Once arrived there you should pick a taxi or take the bus “rodoviária do alentejo” which costs 1€ and allow you to use the ticket for the entire day.
